Case Study: LinkedIn achieves data on demand and faster executive reporting with Airtable

A Airtable Case Study

LinkedIn’s custom research repository gives them data on demand

LinkedIn’s research organization faced a chaotic workflow: they were tracking projects in Google Sheets with manually created project numbers, which caused duplicate IDs, human error, and difficulty finding critical studies. To address this, LinkedIn adopted Airtable (initially for roster and project tracking) to centralize their work and build a reliable research repository.

Using Airtable’s autonumber fields, forms, automations, and bases, the team created a living archive that auto-generates unique IDs, backfills project metadata, tracks project lifecycles, populates a research calendar, and triggers reminders. The result: improved data integrity, doubled capacity to report results to executives, the ability to deliver leadership metrics in minutes rather than days, greater accountability, and faster scaling of the research team.
