How A+E Networks entertains the world with Airtable

A+E Networks, the global media company behind hits like Pawn Stars and Biography, struggled with collaboration across hundreds of people and processes: programming and marketing had no central source of truth, an inflexible legacy asset-management system, no contract-management workflow, and even small changes required weeks or months of hard-coding. In 2018 they turned to Airtable’s low-code software creation platform to find a more flexible, company-wide way to manage assets, schedules, and cross-departmental work.

Airtable embedded a Customer Success Manager with 12 teams to build tailored workflows—linking marketing assets to programs, creating a project tracker, a contract tracker connecting legal/finance/programming, and leveraging linked records, APIs, dashboards, views, and notifications. The result was a centralized platform that sped up development (solutions that once took months could be created in meetings), improved oversight and deal execution, enabled a seamless Labor Day migration and a smooth shift to remote work during COVID—demonstrating how Airtable increased A+E Networks’ agility and transformed how they work.
