Case Study: Wikitongues achieves streamlined volunteer, project and video management for its global language archive with Airtable

A Airtable Case Study

Preview of the Wikitongues Case Study

Behind the scenes of language rights nonprofit Wikitongues

Wikitongues, a nonprofit documenting every language in the world, faced the common growing-organization challenges of managing volunteers, program delivery, content production, and partnerships on a tight budget. To solve this they turned to Airtable, building a single Airtable base (with dedicated tables, forms, views, and a calendar) to centralize video metadata, volunteer CRM, project tracking, and editorial workflows.

Using Airtable, Wikitongues created a “Videos” catalog with volunteer-facing forms, “Missing files” and “Publish order” views, a drag‑and‑drop calendar, a Volunteers CRM with count fields to quantify opportunities, and a Projects and WeeklyTongue Posts workflow — even managing Poly app early access for Kickstarter backers. Airtable helped them streamline publishing, dramatically speed up WeeklyTongue production, track dozens of contributors and hundreds of videos, proactively surface missing assets, and reduce manual overhead across programs.
