Hawaiian Airlines sought to reduce passenger stress on the day of travel by revamping its digital customer experience. The challenge was to meet rising expectations for a seamless, unified journey, with specific goals to boost mobile boarding pass usage, increase mobile wallet adoption and push notification opt-ins, and elevate overall engagement. They partnered with Airship to address this.
Using Airship, Hawaiian Airlines implemented a cross-channel orchestration solution featuring Google Wallet boarding passes, targeted in-app campaigns to drive adoption, and was the first airline to launch Airship's Live Activities for real-time updates. This resulted in a 13% year-over-year increase in audience engagement, a 6.5x increase in registrations upon first app open, and significant growth in mobile wallet adoption and push opt-ins.
