Florida International University successfully hosts ‘resource fair’ via Airmeet

Florida International University (FIU), a top‑50 national public university serving roughly 58,000 students, needed to convert its Convocation Week “University Resource Fair” — a large in‑person ballroom event connecting students with more than 30 departments — into a virtual experience without losing the table‑by‑table interaction. After evaluating options, FIU selected Airmeet and its Social Lounge to replicate the physical fair format online.

Using Airmeet’s Social Lounge (virtual tables with HD video, screen‑sharing, chat/Q&A and simple domain‑based registration), FIU created more than 30 branded tables, provided demos and training, and ran a seamless, eco‑friendly Resource Fair that earned strong positive feedback from departments and students. Airmeet eliminated much of the logistical overhead, enabled intimate live conversations and easy resource sharing, and positioned FIU to continue engaging students virtually post‑pandemic.
