Capio St. Göran Hospital improves surgical throughput with Airista Flow and 2-way patient tags

Capio St. Göran Hospital's surgical unit, a highly profitable center, faced significant patient flow bottlenecks. Congestion in waiting areas and delays caused by staff searching for wandering patients created inefficiencies and reduced patient satisfaction. To address this challenge, the hospital partnered with vendor Airista Flow to implement their B4n RTLS patient tags.

The solution involved assigning Airista Flow's two-way communicating patient tags to arriving patients. Using existing wireless infrastructure, staff could track patient locations and send custom messages directly to the tags to notify patients when it was their turn and direct them to the correct location. This allowed patients the freedom to move about the facility while waiting. As a result, Airista Flow's solution improved patient throughput, relieved congestion, and enhanced the overall flow to surgery, according to hospital staff.
