How AireSpring helped the Santa Fe Irrigation District create business continuity for their telecommunications infrastructure

The Santa Fe Irrigation District (SFID) is a potable and recycled water provider in Northern San Diego County serving about 20,000 customers with approximately 7,300 services. SFID needed a disaster‑proof, flexible backup for its phone system without relocating equipment or changing longstanding phone numbers; after other carriers’ offers proved incompatible, they engaged AireSpring and explored a SIP Trunking solution.

AireSpring implemented SIP Trunking with VPN routing through a nearby colocation center, allowing SFID to retain its existing phone infrastructure and numbers while adding a secure, off‑site backup. AireSpring was the only vendor able to meet SFID’s criteria at a reasonable price, delivering a hardened communications layer that fortifies SFID’s Disaster Recovery plan and helps protect continuous water service for the community.
