Blinkist, the nonfiction learning app, was dealing with incident triage challenges as errors and performance issues began affecting internal tools and customer signups/logins. Using Airbrake and its Slack integration, the team needed a faster way to detect issues, route alerts to the right owners, and coordinate response across teams.
Airbrake helped Blinkist identify a content microservice problem early, before a formal incident was triggered, and brought the right engineers together in Slack to investigate. The team traced the issue to a code change combined with a traffic spike from a scheduled push notification, temporarily increased service resources, and reverted the change while working on a permanent fix. Blinkist said Airbrake’s Slack integration improved communication and automated routing to the correct team.
