Productboard, a fast-growing SaaS company with 200+ employees, faced loss of visibility and weak pre-spend controls as employees used Brex cards while the two-person finance team scaled up. Airbase was implemented company-wide using Airbase cards plus the Advanced Approvals module and Airbase bill payments to replace Bill.com. Customized approval workflows route software requests to security, enforce work‑from‑home budgets, and assign “expense owners,” while bills and amortizations auto-sync to QuickBooks—eliminating the manual spreadsheet and monthly GL entries. The result: clearer visibility, stronger pre-spend control, consolidated approvals and payments in one platform, and a full audit trail, with plans to add Airbase international payments and employee reimbursements next.
