Majblomman launches 750,000 flower orders with Aino

The customer, Majblomman, is a long-running Swedish charity where children sell flowers to fight child poverty. Their challenge, accelerated by covid-19, was to digitalize their century-old cash-based sales model. They partnered with the vendor Aino to create new digital payment systems and online stores that would be simple for both children and their often less-tech-savvy buyers to use.

Aino built a custom solution from scratch, which included a native app for the children and individual e-commerce stores for each child. A real-time order management system synced online and offline sales, and a simplified checkout process removed friction. The results were significant: during the campaign, 45,000 children sold flowers, processing 750,000 orders and collecting approximately 60 million SEK to aid low-income families.
