PTTES Optimizes PTT’s Oil Supply Chain with AIMMS

PTT, Thailand’s integrated state oil and gas company, engaged its technical consulting arm PTT Energy Solutions (PTTES) to optimize the distribution of fuel from refineries and imports to gas stations, power plants and industrial customers. PTTES needed a robust, long‑term supply‑chain plan that accounted for changing regulations, pipeline extensions and future demand while minimizing cost and ensuring timely deliveries.

PTTES and AIMMS co‑developed a Network Optimization Application that enables Excel data exchange, multi‑scenario analysis and advanced network visualization to optimize transportation modes, cost‑to‑serve, delivery envelopes, terminal locations and blending/operating decisions. The solution delivered up to $24 million in cost savings, the ability to calculate break‑even tariffs for new investments, identification of the optimal network and expansion plan, and improved supply‑chain planning efficiency.
