ProRail, a Netherlands-based government organization responsible for maintaining the country's railway network, faced a challenge in planning inspections with its fleet of video inspection trains. CQM developed a prescriptive analytics solution for ProRail using an AIMMS-based model. This application optimizes the schedule for the seven inspection trains, combining routes for efficiency and calculating drive times in advance. The AIMMS solution improved maintenance planning efficiency by dozens of percentage points, resulting in significant cost savings and less interference with regular train operations.
