INEOS Köln, a major petrochemical site with about 1,900 employees and a key raw‑materials supplier to the chemical industry, needed to replace an aging production simulation tool. The challenge was to capture a highly integrated production process—160 raw materials and end products across more than 25 production units—and to compute day‑to‑day production, stock and transport needs for years ahead within reasonable run times.
