Nampak Glass, the bottling division of Africa’s leading packaging company Nampak, operates a world-class plant in Roodekop, South Africa. Increasing product variety, demand volatility and the need for tighter production alignment exposed the limits of Excel-based scheduling — the team needed faster, more advanced planning that could handle complex optimization and quantify the financial impact of decisions.
Nampak implemented GOBSS, a custom scheduling and optimization solution built with AIMMS and Districon. The tool lets schedulers, sales and management evaluate and optimize profit-focused scenarios and trade-offs (service level, profit, changeovers), respond quickly to market and production changes, quantify planning changes financially, and capture clear ROI from improved planning.
