Global Medical Device Manufacturer transforms OEE reporting with AIM Consulting Group and 4 Power BI dashboards

The customer, a global medical device manufacturer, was challenged by a highly manual and inefficient data calculation and reporting process for its new machines, which produced insufficient insight into machine operations. To determine how many machines were needed, they needed to adopt an Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) model. They engaged vendor AIM Consulting Group for assistance.

AIM Consulting Group implemented a solution by building a proof-of-concept data model that automatically transferred machine data into SQL Server and then into Microsoft Power BI dashboards. This provided tremendous insight into OEE KPIs, enabling users to quickly drill down into machine behavior. As a result, business leaders could now correlate metrics to monetary gains and losses and gained the insight needed to determine how many machines to purchase. The project was so successful that the central IT team is looking to extend the solution to other areas of the enterprise.
