AiGo, a 4,000 sq.ft. store in Shanghai carrying about 6,000 SKUs, faced the challenge of transforming an existing location into an autonomous store without losing customers during the transition. To meet this need they partnered with AiFi and deployed AiFi’s Hybrid Solution to offer both traditional cashier checkout and autonomous, checkout‑free shopping.

AiFi implemented a two‑gate system: one gate provides app- or card-based autonomous entry while the other stays open for walk-in customers and cashier checkout; when cashiers finish their shift that gate converts to autonomous entry. The AiFi Hybrid Solution enabled a gradual migration to autonomous shopping, kept the store operating 24/7 with autonomous checkout, and preserved customer choice during the transition.
