Zaha Hadid Architects - Customer Case Study

Zaha Hadid Architects developed Thallus, an experimental pavilion for Milan Design Week 2017, to explore how advanced manufacturing and computational design could generate new forms and patterns. To realize this ambitious concept, they worked with Ai Build on the fabrication and 3D printing process for the structure.

Ai Build helped create the continuous 7km extruded structural strip used in Thallus, enabling it to be robotically 3D printed as a looping form on a ruled surface. The result was a striking experimental installation first shown at White in the City and later exhibited at Maxxi in Rome, demonstrating the potential of robotic manufacturing for complex architectural fabrication.
