Rockwell Automation, the American industrial automation and information solutions provider, needed a faster way to provision servers and support desktop QA testing at scale. Working with AHEAD, the company sought a more agile hybrid cloud approach, using VMware and VCE Vblock to replace slow, siloed manual provisioning processes that were taking six to eight weeks for servers and up to eight months for application testing and rollout.

AHEAD designed and implemented a highly automated hybrid cloud solution using VMware vRealize Suite, including vRealize Automation blueprints and vRealize Orchestrator workflows with Microsoft System Center and CFEngine integrations. The results were dramatic: AHEAD helped Rockwell Automation cut server provisioning from eight weeks to 30 minutes, reduce desktop provisioning from a week to 15 minutes, and accelerate desktop QA testing and application rollout from months to weeks.
