A Agworld Case Study
Pye Group, a large diversified family agricultural business in Temuka, NZ with over 4,700 hectares, 12,000 cows and extensive cropping, previously had no accurate visibility into field-level profitability or the exact costs of specific operations. To fix this, in 2018 Pye Group implemented Agworld’s farm management platform across its corporate structure so everyone from head office to machinery operators could access and record the farm data they need.
Agworld delivered a single, real-time system for recording operations, tracking compliance and generating instant reports, letting Pye Group analyse results down to the field (for example, potato yields of 60–65 t/ha on their own land versus 80–85 t/ha on virgin lease land) and uncover costs such as a $1,500 extra equipment run. Using Agworld, Pye Group has become more cost-conscious, adjusted practices like harvest height and stubble management, mitigated compliance risk and improved overall business performance through data-driven decisions.
