Costilla County - Customer Case Study

Costilla County, part of the San Luis Valley Noxious Weed Management Association, needed a simpler way to collect spray points and lines for its noxious weed management work. Before switching, staff used Garmin GPS units and then had to convert GPX files into shapefiles in ArcMap, creating a complicated workflow for seasonal employees.

AgTerra Technologies, Inc. addressed this by implementing SprayLogger Mobile / MapItFast, which put field data collection on one smartphone-based platform. The result was a streamlined process that made it easier to share and standardize data across all six county weed programs in the valley, with plans to expand use further through additional seasonal hires and a cost-share program.
