Tasmanian producer talks scaling up through skilling up

Mount Ireh Estate, a 1,400 ha mixed livestock and cropping operation near Launceston, TAS, faced the challenge of scaling the family farm without buying large amounts of new land and moving on from an essentially Victorian-era paper accounting system. Manager Piers Dumaresq adopted a “skilling up” approach and implemented AgriWebb’s farm management tools (including Operational Planner and Task management) to digitize records and get the data he needed for better, faster decisions.

Using AgriWebb to centralize records, run feed budgets and analyse returns, Piers identified a ~60% ROI on ewes and was able to scale the flock from about 2,000 to 4,500 breeding first‑cross ewes and produce 5,000–6,000 lambs a year while increasing pivot area from roughly 300 ha to 360 ha over six years. AgriWebb’s solution boosted everyday efficiency, reduced manual admin, and “changed the way I keep records and make decisions,” delivering clear, measurable business impact.
