The customer, Farming for a Better Climate, was a farmer-led initiative in the UK seeking practical solutions to achieve net-zero emissions. They partnered with the vendor, Agrecalc, to identify the sources of greenhouse gas emissions associated with farming activities and products, aiming to find key areas for improvement.

Using the Agrecalc farm carbon calculator, the solution pinpointed specific areas for enhanced efficiency across multiple farms, such as optimizing livestock performance and better utilizing soils and fertilizers. This process increased awareness of resource use and highlighted previously unknown areas for improvement, leading to reduced emissions and cost savings. Agrecalc helped the initiative provide practical guides and case studies that continue to serve farmers through the Scottish Government’s Farm Advisory Service.
