Microsoft partnered with the innovation platform Agorize to launch the "Discover AI" challenge, aiming to harness technology to address the UN's Sustainable Development Goals. The challenge tasked participants with developing creative solutions for urgent global issues in education, health, climate, and sustainable communities using Microsoft technologies.
The solution implemented by Agorize was running a large-scale online innovation competition. The process managed by Agorize included an ideation phase, mentoring from Microsoft managers, and a final pitch event. This approach yielded significant results: 687 participants submitted ideas, which were narrowed down to 6 finalists and 3 winners who developed groundbreaking projects. The winning teams created AI-powered solutions for physical therapy, surgical planning, and community sustainability action, successfully bringing bold ideas to life with measurable impact.
