KUMU brings the global Filipino community closer with a rich live streaming experience powered by Agora

KUMU, a Philippines-based social media and live streaming platform, wanted to deliver smooth real-time audio and video experiences to its global Filipino community despite unreliable local internet conditions, limited scalability, and slow development cycles. To solve this, KUMU turned to Agora’s real-time communications platform, including voice, video, interactive live streaming, and signaling tools.

With Agora’s scalable SD-RTN network and low-code SDKs, KUMU rebuilt its app to support stutter-free streaming, voice effects, AI noise cancellation, and synchronized interactions at global scale. The results were strong: session time increased by 30%, gifts/tips rose by 78%, and KUMU reached about 60 million live stream views per month, helping the app become one of the highest-grossing worldwide.
