Hallo powers an innovative social language learning experience with Agora’s real-time video chat

Hallo is a social learning app that helps people learn and practice English through live video chat and streaming. The company initially tried building its own WebRTC audio and video solution, but struggled to deliver a consistent experience outside the U.S. and needed a global, scalable RTC provider. Hallo turned to Agora and its Video Calling and Live Streaming products to support real-time language practice for users around the world.

With Agora, Hallo was able to quickly launch interactive video features, scale globally, and provide low-latency, high-quality conversations with native speakers. The platform grew to more than 200,000 registered users, 13,000 average new users per week, and over 2 million minutes of live video per month, with 50% of users active monthly and 7% active daily. Agora also helped Hallo balance speed, support, and cost-effectiveness as the startup continued expanding.
