ARUtility is transforming an industry and improving worker safety with AR and Agora’s interactive video

ARUtility, a company founded to improve safety and efficiency on construction sites, faced the challenge of preventing costly and dangerous underground utility damages. Their goal was to replace the slow, traditional process of sending experts to a job site for evaluations with a faster, remote solution. They turned to vendor Agora and its real-time engagement platform to integrate live video, voice, and messaging directly into their proprietary augmented reality application.

The solution implemented using Agora's real-time communication SDK for Unity allowed ARUtility to overlay AR with robust, low-latency interactive video. This enabled remote experts to consult with on-site workers using a shared 3D view and drawing tools, providing immediate responses to critical problems. As a result, ARUtility created a safer work environment by preventing accidents, significantly reduced delays and costs associated with traveling to sites, and transformed an outdated industry process through digital innovation.
