Allied Electronics faced the challenge of getting more than 1 million products to market quickly and consistently across channels. A decade-long partnership with Agility PIM provided the strategic product information management platform Allied needed to align business processes, centralize product content, and support a dedicated content team tasked with authoring and enriching data for web, print and direct sales.
Agility PIM was deployed on Allied’s Microsoft SQL Server environment and upgraded to the AMI user interface, with Excel integrations, APIs and a Content Gateway to connect SAP ERP and enable import/export, validations and choice lists. The solution created a single trusted source of truth, dramatically speeding content authoring and approval and improving customer experience; measurable results include managing 520,000 commercial codes, 65,000 accessory SKUs, 75,000 product modules, 38 million attribute values, 2.8 million web attributes, 220,000 datasheets and 320,000 images while rapidly bringing over a million products to market.
