Smartesting, a French software company serving global IT customers, needed a licensing approach that could support multiple models across its products. After using a traditional floating-license system, the company wanted to add node-locked and pay-per-use options while keeping floating licensing in place, and chose Agilis Software and its Orion Server and license-manager tools to meet those needs.

Agilis Software implemented a single licensing solution that covered node-locked licensing for offline systems, floating licensing for enterprise customers, and pay-per-use licensing with Production Units for system integrators. Smartesting also used Agilis’s desktop console and Orion Java administration APIs to streamline license delivery and build a custom customer UI. The result was lower operations overhead, flexible licensing across all customer types, and a model that helped customers reduce risk and avoid unused shelfware.
