Case Study: FICO achieves secure offline usage-based licensing with Agilis Software Orion

A Agilis Software Case Study

Preview of the FICO Case Study

FICO - Customer Case Study

FICO, the company behind the world’s most widely used consumer credit scores, needed a more sophisticated way to manage and track software licenses as its deployments expanded globally. With customers often lacking direct internet connectivity and IT teams stretched thin, FICO needed a secure, low-touch licensing approach that could support offline activation, usage tracking, and auditing. FICO chose Agilis Software’s Orion Network Licensing Platform to replace its simple in-house license manager.

Agilis Software implemented an Orion-based licensing system with offline activation, encrypted usage logging, audit trails, reporting, and rollback/clock-tamper protection. The solution let FICO customers upload usage data periodically through a browser-based self-service process, while FICO could analyze license activity and extend or relocate licenses remotely. The rollout went smoothly at initial customer sites in Mexico and Japan, and FICO said the system met its performance needs with no noticeable application delay, becoming its standard approach for future deployments.
