A AgilePoint Case Study
Elbit Systems, a global defense and homeland security innovator, needed to accelerate growth through acquisitions while integrating diverse subsidiary technologies, consolidating data and processes, and meeting strict accounting and regulatory requirements. The company required a solution that fit its Microsoft-based environment (SharePoint, VB, .NET) and supported two user types: IT developers to build reusable back-end components and business analysts to assemble process-enabled applications without deep technical skills. A primary goal was to cut purchase order processing time (then 28 days) by at least 60%.
Elbit deployed AgilePoint’s low-code/no-code framework to create reusable components (AgilePart) and a single, 550-activity purchase order application consumable across subsidiaries. Business analysts now build and adapt process-enabled apps while IT maintains components and business rules, reducing development overhead and easing compliance. Results include a 95% decrease in PO processing time (from 28 days to 2.3 days, with <1 day for amounts over $2M), ~5 million processes per year, ~30,000 concurrent instances, and 75% of 70 AgilePoint apps classified as business-critical, plus lower IT maintenance and improved cross-organization reporting and approvals.
