Global Restaurant Service Provider, a rapidly growing fast casual restaurant brand with 400+ locations, used Agilence’s data analytics platform to investigate unusually high levels of voids, comps, error corrects, and refunds. The company found that a small number of locations were driving an outsized share of these adjustments, with one location showing low average order sizes, low items per order, and an unusually low percentage of cash transactions.

Using Agilence, the team identified a single employee responsible for most of the voids and error corrects in cash transactions and confirmed the associate was voiding paid orders and pocketing the money. After the employee was terminated, cash transactions rose from 11% to over 30% within two weeks, voids and error corrects returned to normal, and other sales metrics quickly normalized. Agilence also helped the company set up automated alerts to flag excessive void activity more quickly in the future.
