A AgileAssets Case Study
Pinellas County Public Works (FL) needed to consolidate and modernize asset management across maintenance, pavement and bridges to achieve significant cost savings, greater organizational efficiency and higher productivity. The department set out to select, deploy and operate a comprehensive technology solution that would improve resource management, reporting and decision‑making across its 440‑person staff responsible for ~1,100 road miles, 130 bridges and 360 signalized intersections.
Between 2006–2008 AgileAssets delivered a web‑based Maintenance Management System (2006) and browser‑based Pavement and Bridge Management Systems (2008), converting data, integrating more than 40 legacy systems (including traffic, stormwater, GIS and VCMS), and training ~75 users across 14 locations. The implementation eliminated the need to buy two budgeted systems (> $500K), reduced the labor pool by 51 positions (81,657 hours) while boosting productivity by 45%, saved $1.7M in mowing alone, and yielded documented budget reductions and process improvements totaling more than $12M.
