Kentucky Transportation Cabinet - Customer Case Study

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC), responsible for more than 27,000 miles of U.S. and state highways and supported by a 3,200-person staff, needed an enterprise-wide operations management system to consolidate disparate data, standardize daily project tracking and enable predefined and ad hoc reporting for management. Existing simple, independent systems hindered organizational development, efficiency, productivity and cost-effectiveness.

KYTC retained AgileAssets to customize and implement a fully integrated Operations Management System—using AgileAssets’ Maintenance Manager™ and Pavement Analyst™—which went live in 2002 and was upgraded to a browser-based OMS in 2008. The solution enabled proactive decision-making, better resource utilization, faster information gathering and improved planning, reporting, accountability and transparency, while the browser-based upgrade allowed seamless statewide data sharing, reduced client‑side maintenance and lowered overall costs.
