The Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) engaged AgileAssets to implement a Transportation Asset Management System (TAMS) after operating without a maintenance management system since 2005 and relying on a 30‑year‑old pavement system that limited data to technical experts. Growing transportation demand, declining revenues, rising costs and fragmented, non‑integrated systems created inefficiencies and departmental disconnects, and ITD faced a 15‑month deadline from a Governor’s executive order to modernize.
AgileAssets delivered a customized, fully integrated TAMS with single‑point data entry, financial system interfaces for cost and payroll, and tools for short‑ and long‑term scheduling and budgeting, supported by close collaboration between ITD and AgileAssets project teams. The system improved asset inventory management, performance tracking, transparency and decision‑making—raising efficiency, productivity, accountability and reporting—while meeting the selection-to‑go‑live timeline and staying on budget, restoring public confidence.
