Dubai Municipality Wins “Distinguished Technical Project” With Help From AgileAssets

AgileAssets partnered with Dubai Municipality (now part of the Roads & Transport Authority) to implement a state-of-the-art pavement management system for a 4,000 km road network. The municipality’s existing process relied on manual, paper-based surveys that recorded 19 distress types, which was time-consuming and inefficient given a schedule that surveys 50% of the network annually and 100% every two years.

AgileAssets implemented its Pavement and Asset Management Suite, ran sample surveys and six years of historical data to reduce the distress list to nine key types, and developed a tablet-based field data collection app with data transfer interfaces to the PMS server. The project streamlined data collection and entry, reduced resource needs, and won the 2003 Dubai Government Excellence Program “Distinguished Technical Project” award.
