Creating a 4-Year Pavement Management Plan with AgileAssets® Pavement Analyst

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), a 12,000‑employee agency working across 25 highway districts and responsible for 80,444 centerline miles of roadway and 197.4 billion annual vehicle miles traveled, needed a uniform, roadway‑specific, budget‑constrained 4‑year pavement management plan that met legislative requirements for pavement condition targets and district-by-district analysis of spending impacts.

TxDOT implemented AgileAssets Pavement Analyst (with Maintenance Manager) to apply predictive modeling, GIS mapping and multi‑database integration to generate data‑driven, fiscally constrained project lists, forecast pavement outcomes, and assess funding impacts. The approach produced more cost‑effective project allocations, improved coordination and budget forecasting, greater transparency for officials, safer and more reliable roadways — and earned TxDOT an honorable mention in the AXIAM awards.
