A Agile Fleet Case Study
The State of Colorado, led by State Fleet Manager Scott Edwards, oversees a 6,250-vehicle fleet and faced inefficiencies in motor pool scheduling, dispatching, and reporting. Prior to automation they relied on paper schedules and spreadsheets, lacked transparency and geographic visibility, and could not easily capture utilization statistics. To address these challenges they implemented Agile Fleet’s FleetCommander fleet management solution to automate reservations, dispatch, reporting, and usage tracking.
Using Agile Fleet’s FleetCommander, Colorado reduced its motor pool from 60 to 46 vehicles (a 30% reduction), avoiding $360,000 in vehicle purchases; billing moved from 30 hours per month to automated processes with 24/7 data access, and staff required to manage the motor pool fell from three people to one. Agile Fleet’s reliable system also improved driver access with online reservations and delivered actionable utilization and aging reports for ongoing right-sizing and cost savings.
