A Agile Fleet Case Study

Preview of the Sonoma County Human Services Department Case Study

Human Services Department Right Sizes its Fleet, Improves Service to the At-Risk Population

Sonoma County Human Services Department faced a complex fleet challenge: 67 vehicles shared across eight locations by roughly 1,000 staff who provide time-sensitive services to at‑risk populations. The Department selected Agile Fleet and its FleetCommander fleet and motor pool technologies to automate reservations, track vehicle metrics, simplify key management, and improve utilization while keeping the system easy for fleet administrators and frontline staff.

Agile Fleet implemented FleetCommander with online reservations, self‑service kiosks and secure key boxes, multi‑site training, and staged rollout across HSD divisions. The automation now supports 1,035 registered drivers at eight locations (four fully automated motor pools), added about 200 workers served without increasing vehicle count, and delivered significant staff time savings, reduced key handling, better vehicle rotation and utilization visibility, and improved ability to monitor reimbursement costs.
