A Agile Fleet Case Study
Cornell University’s Fleet Services, led by Fleet Operations Coordinator Sally Compton, faced the common complexities of a large university fleet: five motor‑pool sites, frequent after‑hours pick‑ups and returns, and cumbersome paper‑based processes that made data collection and user‑profile management difficult. To modernize operations and improve policy enforcement, Cornell partnered with Agile Fleet and deployed Agile Fleet’s FleetCommander solution.
Agile Fleet implemented FleetCommander across Cornell’s sites to enable online reservations, 24/7 kiosk key pickup, automated vehicle assignment, and centralized maintenance and DOT tracking. The system improved reporting and utilization visibility, allowing Cornell to right‑size its fleet—resulting in a 35% reduction—and now supports 5 sites sharing 250 vehicles while tracking about 650 additional vehicles. Agile Fleet’s tools also freed staff time (e.g., eliminating manual assignment of dozens of reservations) and strengthened policy controls and communication.
