A Agile Fleet Case Study
The City of Stamford, CT was struggling with poor vehicle utilization, lack of trip and driver data, and no accountability across its municipal fleet. To solve this, the city deployed Agile Fleet’s FleetCommander motor‑pool software integrated with GPS tracking to automate online reservations, dispatching, key and maintenance management, and to collect utilization and trip information.
Agile Fleet’s solution drove dramatic results: Stamford reduced its fleet from 80 to 29 vehicles (51 removed), realized an estimated $560,000 in fleet cost savings over two years with a five‑year projection above $1 million, and achieved about $500,000 in cost avoidance from automation and GPS. The FleetCommander + GPS integration improved mileage tracking, maintenance responsiveness, idle and driver‑behavior monitoring, generated $204K in one‑time disposal income and roughly $175K in annual maintenance/carrying savings, while increasing vehicle availability and accountability for city staff.
