Ziekenhuis Oost-Limburg (ZOL) sought to modernize its large medical imaging department across four sites, aiming to improve care quality, patient experience, and operational efficiency. To achieve this, the customer partnered with vendor Agfa HealthCare to implement its Enterprise Imaging platform, replacing their previous PACS and RIS systems.

The solution implemented by Agfa HealthCare provided centralized, subspecialty-specific worklists, standardized workflows, and a powerful Business Intelligence module for data-driven management. This allowed ZOL's radiologists to work far more efficiently from both the hospital and home. The results included a significant increase in productivity; reading 250 MRIs now requires only five radiologists instead of six to eight. Agfa HealthCare's platform also enabled the smooth integration of a new hospital site and provided the tools to reduce exam waiting times and manage departmental workloads effectively.
