Austin Health, a public tertiary hospital in Australia, faced a challenge with clinicians using personal mobile devices to take clinical images of patients, creating a significant data security and patient privacy risk. They turned to vendor AGFA HealthCare and its Mobile Image Capture technology to find a secure solution that could integrate with their existing electronic medical record (EMR).

AGFA HealthCare implemented its Mobile Image Capture solution as an add-on to the hospital's existing image management system. The secure, easy-to-use application integrated directly with the EMR. As a result, over 700 imaging studies were uploaded in the first four months, enriching the EMR with a greater variety of images while keeping patient information safer.
