Smet-Boring boosts site security with Agent Vi, detecting intruders up to 140 meters away

Smet-Boring, a family-owned enterprise specializing in underground infrastructure, faced significant financial losses from theft at its large industrial site in Belgium. Their challenge was to enhance surveillance and detect unauthorized personnel after-hours without increasing manpower. To address this, they worked with vendor Agent Vi and its real-time video analytics product, Vi-System, to improve security coverage.

Agent Vi's solution integrated with Axis thermal and PTZ cameras and the Milestone XProtect VMS to provide highly accurate intrusion detection. This resulted in a sharp decrease in false alarms and early, reliable detections of intruders, some from as far as 140 meters away. The security team's effectiveness was significantly improved without an increase in staffing costs, allowing for a more rapid and informed response to incidents.
