Major UK Bank worked with Agenor Technology to address an out-of-date IBM MQ estate running on a critical mainframe banking platform. The bank was using MQ V7.1 in COMPAT mode and WebSphere V6, which created support, compatibility, and migration challenges while planning a move to a better-supported environment.

Agenor Technology designed and delivered a phased upgrade path to MQ V9.0, including re-platforming WebSphere applications onto Linux and upgrading them to WebSphere 8.5. The project rolled out across 7 Parallel Sysplex environments and upgraded 164 queue managers in total, including 61 production queue managers, with MQ V9 New Function Mode implemented and zero customer impact or downtime.
