Epic Charter Schools implemented Age of Learning's My Math Academy to support math instruction for early elementary students within its virtual school model. The challenge was to provide effective, personalized math instruction and practice in an online environment where teachers are not physically present with students every day, requiring a resource that could empower educators and promote student growth.

Age of Learning’s solution provided an adaptive learning platform that allowed students to practice skills at their individual level. The results showed substantial gains; after an average of just over nine hours of use, first and second grade students reached math proficiency levels equivalent to the next grade. A controlled study found these students scored significantly higher on assessments and were more likely to be ready for the next school year than their peers who did not use the program. Furthermore, all teachers reported the tool had a positive impact on student enjoyment and empowered them in their teaching.
