Thompson Trading Company gains greater operation effectiveness with AFS Warehouse Management and Data Discovery

Thompson Trading Company is a wholesale grocer operating in Nassau and Freeport, Bahamas, carrying dry grocery, HBA, candy and beverages and acting as the Pepsi distributor across numerous islands. Facing complex manufacturer reporting requirements, disparate data sources, inventory mis-rotation, long pick-and-dispatch cycles and suboptimal fill rates, Thompson implemented Ignition by AFS solutions, including G2 Data Analytics and the Ignition Warehouse Management System.

With Ignition by AFS, Thompson consolidated reporting and automated warehouse processes, cutting business managers from six to five (more than $65,000 saved), reducing picking staff by 30%, and shortening a key customer’s pick-and-dispatch time from two days to three–four hours. The deployment drove measurable gains: fill rate rose from 86% to 93%, lost sales from misplaced inventory dropped to zero, mis-rotation and expired-product losses are nearly eliminated, and promotional monitoring became fast enough to “pay for itself in one day.”
