Scavuzzo’s, a fourth-generation independent food service supplier and heavy-protein house, faced growing challenges around traceability, catch weights, lot control and manual paper-based receiving that made inventory accuracy and rotation slow and error-prone. To address faster, more accurate warehouse operations they partnered with AFS and implemented AFS WMS™ to capture GTINs, code dates and lot information at reception.

AFS delivered a barcode-driven WMS that reduced paperwork and touchpoints, flagged mismatches at reception, and improved replenishment and pick-path efficiency. As a result Scavuzzo’s reported pick times down to about 40 minutes or less for the same orders, reduced a heavily visited slot’s replenishments from ~66 to under 20 per week, and achieved inventory audit accuracy—less than $5,000 variance on roughly $4 million of inventory—demonstrating measurable labor and inventory control gains with AFS.
