STV, while co-producing the reboot of Catchphrase (featuring the restored “Mr Chips”), faced a tight seven-week production with over 1TB of animation assets for nine episodes, distributed teams across locations, and the risk of ballooning IT and courier costs. Traditional file transfer and on-prem storage threatened slow iteration, security concerns, and budget overruns, so the team needed a cost-effective, high-speed, secure way to upload and share large media files quickly.

Aframe’s private cloud let STV upload daily animation once, automatically transcode H.264 proxies, and share secure links for real-time review and commenting across timezones, with transfer speeds ~15x faster than FTP and auto-scalable, offsite backups. The platform centralized 300+ animation collections (about 1,500 graphic sequences), eliminated courier fees, enabled immediate global collaboration and shaved a full week off the seven-week schedule.
