Giant Bicycles wanted to enter e-commerce without sacrificing its authentic direct-to-consumer experience or its long-standing retailer distribution model, while making higher-end bikes more affordable to new customers. To do that, Giant partnered with Affirm and integrated Affirm’s financing solution (including its Multiple Financing Program and 0% APR offers) into its custom e-commerce platform to offer transparent, real-time loan decisions at checkout.
Affirm’s financing solution let Giant promote consumer-friendly payment options on the homepage and product pages, driving a substantial business impact: average order value rose roughly 250% (nearly 2.5x), AOV for 0% APR purchases doubled versus non-0% APR, and Affirm accounted for a major portion of loan volume—helping Giant move excess inventory and boost sales (the 0% offer was extended due to strong results). Affirm also strengthened Giant’s retailer relationships by enabling online purchases to be picked up and serviced in-store, and supported targeted marketing outreach (including a recent email to 40k addresses) that measurably increased conversion.
