Molekule, the San Francisco–based maker of a molecular air purifier, faced a challenge: its high-tech devices (about $800) limited accessibility despite the company’s mission to make clean air attainable. To lower the upfront barrier and reach more customers, Molekule partnered with Affirm to offer pay-over-time financing and clearer payment terms.

Affirm provided standard installment financing and a 0% APR promotion that Molekule promoted as “as low as $67/month.” The results were strong: during the 0% APR launch week loan volume spiked 7x, half of all purchases during the campaign used Affirm, and weekly loan volume stabilized at a 100% increase—prompting Molekule to keep Affirm’s financing as a permanent option.
